Italian term

parco giocatori

Italian to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Hello football enthusiasts! Can you help me translate the term "parco giocatori" as in the following phrase. I've tried "pool of players" but it just doesn't sound right...
Nel corso degli anni, la tradizionale veste giuridica dei club e le regole contabili inizialmente adottate hanno mostrato tutta la loro inadeguatezza (non ultima l’incapacità di evidenziare il valore del “parco giocatori”) rispetto ad un fenomeno dai connotati sempre più marcatamente imprenditoriali, in grado di coinvolgere interessi economici di assoluto rilievo.

Selected

a club's players

The word "parco" is used to refer to a group of items (cars, factories, etc.) belonging to an organisation, which in this case is a club and "players" in the plural is sufficient to indicate a group.

Parco just means a collection, as in parco macchine, a fleet of cars. I would leave it out here.

playing squad

feels more natural than referring to footballers as 'staff', also 'roster' I believe is very much an American term, and the American game has a language somewhat different from that of the European game.
