Spanish term

colita

Spanish to English Marketing Cinema, Film, TV, Drama commercials
You know when you see a commercial for a product and then there's another commercial in the middle (for something else) and then there's a little follow-up to the first commercial (generally much shorter). Anyone know the name for this in English?

Emma Ratcliffe Oct 15, 2009:
This is the part I think might help:
Using a new technique called "playlisting," the dynamic system cues commercials to run right before or just after a selected chunk of on-demand programming stored separately from the ad files.

I've looked at it, but I'm not sure which bit you're talking about.

I found this link it might help:

philgoddard Oct 14, 2009:
"Bookend" comes close, but that's a commercial that's in two parts with one or more others between them. Robert's "reprise" would be an excellent alternative if you don't find the correct word.
philgoddard Oct 14, 2009:
We've had this before in Finnish:

I'm not 100% convinced by any of the answers, but I've always wanted to know what they're called in Engllish.

I'm sure that people who work in television advertising have a name for this. These are two options from a purely logical/semantic point of view.

Suerte.

"Top & Tail - to 'top and tail' commercials is to have one commercial play at the start of a commercial break and a second to play at the end of the break. The commercials can vary in length to each other. Top and Tailing is an effective way to reiterate the message to listeners."
