Both "senão vejamos" and "namely" are idioms in the respective languages. For those not familiar with the Portuguese one, its rationale goes like this: "if you aren't convinced" ("se não", corrupted as "senão"), "let's see" ("vejamos"), that is, "here is/are one/some example(s)"
