"ari" is Kinyarmandan, the language spoken in Zaire and Ruanda. It means "is"

as for instance in "Yesu ari mu bugindo bwe"
meaning: "Christ is in the life and on the throne"

Could this possibly be short for

"Ayn Rand Institute?" That would fit with religion and atheism anyway. Otherwise, more context would be nice!
