Egyaltalan nem vagyok biztos benne, hogy pontosan mit takar a magyar kifejezes. a "throw the cart before the horse" kifejezest egy impulziv, hirtelen felindulasbol eredo, atgondolatlan muveletre ertik, ami altalaban nemcsakhogy ertelmetlen, de a megoldast hatraltatja.

Ez egy jelképes kifejezés arra, hogy valaki megengedi, hogy legyen az, aminek lennie kell, magyarul a sorsra bízza magát. Angolul a javasolt kifejezés közelíti meg leginkább.

A magyarhoz igen hasonló az angol idióma is: to let go of the reins / letting go of the reins
