It seems like the term "up direction"/"down direction" is used internationally, BUT with different meaning on particular lines or in particular parts of a country. I think you should add a translator's explanation pointing this out.

Uppspår
Upp och ned betecknar riktningar för ett järnvägsspår. Vid dubbelspår är uppspåret det vänstra spåret i riktning upp och nedspåret det vänstra spåret i riktning ned.
Vad som är upp och ner framgår av den grafiska tidtabellen. För järnvägar som går i nord-sydlig riktning brukar upp vara norrut, men det finns undantag (exempelvis Sala-Västerås N som är uppåt trots att det är söderut).

Signaler och växlar i riktning upp har jämna nummer och udda nummer i riktning ned. På samma vis har tåg ett jämnt eller udda tågnummer beroende på riktning.
This may give you a workaround for translating uppriktning / nedriktning:

China
In China, railway directions are described as "up" (上行) and "down" (下行), with up towards Beijing; trains leaving Beijing are "down", while those going toward Beijing are "up".
Japan
In Japan, railway directions are referred to as "up" (上り nobori?) and "down" (下り kudari?). For JR trains, trains going towards Tokyo are "up" trains, while those going away from the capital are "down" trains.
United Kingdom
In British practice, railway directions are usually described as up and down, with up being towards a major location.
