Dutch to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
"Het rentedepot bij de XXX BANK loopt in september 2010 leeg en investeerders van YYYY CV zijn niet voornemens dit nog eens aan te vullen;".

In German, a"Rentenportfolio" is a"bond portfolio", but I do not think this applies here. The bank has made a loan, and I think "rente" here referes to interest/interest payments.

Any ideas of how to translate this term?

Hi David That would usually be a "pensioenfonds" and since the text concerns a loan and interest payments, I think this will not work.

I get the impression that it may also be called a loan offset account, but I'm not sure about that. See https://www.amp.com.au/wps/portal/au/AMPAUProduct3C?vigurl=/... , for example.

agree Carolyn Gille : I think this is the best option, since there isn't an exact translation. Just checked with a real estate in the US, and they don't have anything similar.

agree Johan Venter : Sounds good to me. The Unicredit Group refers to these accounts as Temporary Accounts ( I hold one), but considering that they do not have any branches in English speaking countries (afaik) their term can bo no means be considered authoritative

If the Dutch is close enough to German, this could well mean pension fund.

Rentedepôt bij dubbele lasten

De periode dat u met dubbele lasten wordt geconfronteerd kan bij de aankoop van een nieuwbouwhuis aanzienlijk zijn. Enerzijds moet u rente over de nieuwe hypotheek betalen, terwijl anderzijds de rente- of huurlasten van uw oude huis doorlopen. Het is mogelijk om de rentelasten voor de nieuwe hypotheek, in de periode dat u ook uw oude huis bewoont, apart mee te financieren. Het totaal van deze rentelasten wordt dan meegenomen in het bedrag van de nieuwe hypotheek en gestort in een rentedepot. Vanuit dit rentedepot wordt de hypotheekrente voor het nieuwe huis betaald tot aan het moment dat dit huis wordt opgeleverd.
