B.− [Correspond à équarrir B] Rare. Celui qui équarrit les animaux. Une bête hors de service, dont les équarrisseurs ne voulaient même pas acheter la peau ni la graisse (Zola, Assommoir, 1877, p. 686).
− P. métaph. Cet équarrisseur littéraire ne discute pas une œuvre, il la dépèce (Balzac, Œuvres div., t. 3, 1836-48, p. 590).
