(Udspecificeret i Elforsyningsloven.) Det betyder, at Energi-net.dk skal aftage el fra de pågældende producenter og afregne den til markedsprisen. Med "aftagepligt" forstås her, at produktionen er omfattet af aftagepligten i elforsyningslovens § 59 a, stk. 1-3, og at denne aftagepligt rent faktisk ud-nyttes af producenten. Aftagepligten forpligter Energinet.dk til at varetage den fysiske salgsopgave og balanceringsydelse for visse anlægskategorier.
