agree Dave Bindon : I prefer 'commonly owned'. I can't give any logical reason (maybe I need another frappé?!) but it just sounds better in this context, I think.

disagree Dave Bindon : "Shared ownership" is a scheme whereby someone with low income and/or low capital will agree to buy (with a mortgage) just a percentage of the true value of a property, and the bank (or other organization) pays for and owns the rest.
