English term
dental therapist
English to German
Medical
Medical: Dentistry
Hallo allerseits,
While some dentists may choose to record the medical history and perform the dental cleaning themselves, other dental practices will hire dental hygienists or **dental therapists** to carry out these tasks. This allows the dentist to focus more on clinical or restorative procedures that only the dentist is qualified to do. Therefore, during a typical dental check-up, a patient could see two dental professionals: their dentist and a dental hygienist or **dental therapist**. The key job duties of the dental hygienist or therapist include dental cleaning and educating patients about proper at-home oral hygiene practices.
During a patient’s first visit to a new dental practice, the dentist or dental office receptionist will ask the patient to fill out a medical history form that will include questions about all medical conditions, recent operations, allergies and current medications, including those available without a prescription (OTC medicines). At each subsequent visit, the dentist, dental hygienist, **dental therapist** or dental nurse will ask the patient about any changes to their health or to the medications they are taking.
Wie würdet ihr „dental therapist“ übersetzen? Gibt es überhaupt eine Entsprechung in Deutschland?
Vielen Dank!
Lüder

(zahnmedizinische) Prophylaxehelferin/zahnmedizinische Fachangestellte

Zahnmedizinische Fachangestellte (ZMF)
Prophylaxe, Professionelle Zahnreinigung, Bleaching .
Deniz Meler
