German term

Schraub-Set

Non-PRO German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Pliers etc.
Werkzeug-Rolltasche "Schraub-Set"

I just have a list of words. No context. No pictures.
I don't think "Schraub-Set" here is the same as Schraubensatz. I presume it's a Schraubsatz.
Pictures of a Schraubsatz can be found on the web. So, does anyone know the right word for "Schraubsatz"?
Proposed translations (English)
3 +4 Screwdriver set
3 +1 screwdriving set
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Erika Berrai-Flynn Nov 28, 2010:
Es gibt viele Hersteller, die auch Bits oder Wechselklingensysteme in Rolltaschen anbieten. Insofern muss es sich nicht zwangläufig um Schraubendreher handeln! http://www.tool-paradise.de/pi2/pd197.htm
Raoul COLIN (X) Nov 28, 2010:
set/kit or case/box - Rolltasche Most set, if not all, are sold in a box/case/molded tray.
But the denominations themselves are sometimes just set/kit, exactly as the Bosch Schraubset which is presented in a box.

As to Rolltasche, it is often a pouch or roll pouch.

Screwdriver set

From the context it is likely to be either a "screwdriver se"t, or a "screwdriver bit set".

The picture would probably give it away.

"screwdriver set" oops.

agree BrigitteHilgner : I'm not an expert, but this was my spontaneous idea, too.

agree Frosty : Sounds about right - flathead, crosshead, Philips, Pozidrive et.al.

agree Rebecca Garber : The 'rolltasche' aspect leads me to suspect it is a set of screwdrivers of various types. What is a 'Rolltasche' in English? This is embarrassing, we own several of them, with screwdriver and wrench sets.

screwdriving set

At a time when most companies upgrade their offer, the strong possibility is that the set is made of bits and perhalps also bitholders and ratchets.
See what the Bosch Cy is offering under the name Schaubset: a picture is to be seen on the site below.
Black and Decker is offering that as a screwdriving set and a UK company I know quite well offers for sale a set of bits and ratchets under the simple name of socketry
Peer comment(s):

neutral Rebecca Garber : bits and sockets are usually stored in hard plastic or metal containers with snap-in features.

agree Ulrike Kraemer : agree with Erika's comment; not necessarily a set of screwdrivers
