Italiano term

regime patrimoniale

Da Italiano a Inglese Legale/Brevetti Legale (generale)
Context:
fare dichiarazioni circa il regime patrimoniale della parte mandante

i've done some research on proz and everyone translates it as "statutory martrimonial regime" but in my case it has nothing to do with matrimonial situations.
Here it is a power of attorney of a single person who still reserves total right on his life estate ...
So can I just translate here as :
to make declarations on property law of the principal section"?

Discussion

Rosaria Solange Alves Mendonca (asker) Dec 2, 2010:
And indeed he declared he was single so ....
James (Jim) Davis Dec 1, 2010:
Marriage Here he has to declare that he isn't married and nobody has any claim on his estate.
philgoddard Nov 30, 2010:
Matrimoniale is not the same as patrimoniale!

agree James (Jim) Davis : This really requires an explanation, which is what the poster really wants. It is not self evident.

property law

Io lo lascerei come hai proposto tu: "Property law"

Riguarda i diritti: REAL PROPERTY beni immobili, proprietà e diritti reali o real estates

property arrangements

"Regime" is not always the term preferred by English speaking lawyers.

See for example the bilingual page: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/Notice.do?mode=dbl&lang=en&ihmlang=...
Note from asker:
Had I known that earlier! I chose 'regime' though. I'll take it into account for next time. Thanks anyway

the way property is held (by the donor)

The principal, donor of the power or client is 'retaining an interest in possession' in his estate.

Tenure might confine the scenario to land though - contrary to Google hits - can be used for chattels. Also proprietary status refers to the copyright standing of things, rarther than of people.

Example sentence:

The word tenant in this context has no relation to renting property). The way in which property is held jointly may become particularly important.

Where an interest in possession trust arises before 6 April 2008, it will be regarded as a transitional
