becsület rendszer
Szerintem itt az "honor" magyar megfelelője "becsület". Létezik pl. becsület-kassza is, ahol az egyének becsületességére bízzuk, valóban befizetik-e pénzüket a kasszába, anélkül, hogy ellenőriznék őket. Valóban köze van a "bizalomhoz", hiszen bizalom nélkül nem létezne az ilyen rendszer, de a rendszer erre a három alaptulajdonságra épül: bizalom (trust), becsület/esség/ (honor) és őszinteség (honesty).

Kis javítás: Azt hiszem, helyesebb egybe írni, pl. a becsületkassza mintájára, vagy ahogy az 'honor code' magyarul becsületkódex, tehát 'honor system': becsületrendszer.

: A magyar referencia nagyon gyenge fordítás (tudom, hogy nem a tiéd) és a becsület rendszer magyarázat nélkül igen nehezen lenne érthető.

Köszönöm. Én elsősorban arra kívántam felhívni a kérdező figyelmét, hogy mi a rendszer alapja, és mi a kulcsszavak pontos fordítása. Az "honor" egyértelműen "becsület" v. "becsületesség", míg a "trust" jelentése "bizalom", az "honesty" pedig "őszinteség".

In the UK, it would more often be called a "trust system", and should not be confused with the British honours system.
An obvious example of the honor system in action would be a library. Libraries are usually free to join, and allow anyone to take out large quanties of their books to read at home. After a certain amount of time has passed, the library expects their books to be returned. If the books are not returned the library can fine the offender on a repeat visit, but in many ways the library is helpless to force its books to be returned. The library thus operates under the honor system, in that its continued functioning is heavily reliant on the co-operation and ethical behavior of its participants.

személyi bizalmon alapuló rendszer
Legjobb körülírni, de ha főnévként akarod használni, akkor jobb olyan kifejezést alkalmazni, amit nem kell magyarázni. A bizalmi rendszer félreérthető, mert a szakszervezetek másra használják és az az értelmezése már meggyökeresedett a magyar nyelven. A "becsület rendszer" kifejezés erőltetett és magyarázatra szorul. A mondatban: ...we rely on the honor system to ensure that all progress reported by participants is accurate. ...mi a személyi bizalmon alapuló rendszer hívei vagyunk, és megbízunk abban, hogy minden résztvevő mindig pontosan jelenti az előmenetelt (előrehaladását) - attól függően, hogy mire értik a progresst.
Persze az angol mondat logikailag hibás, mert azzal, hogy valaki valamilyen rendszer híve (rely on) még nem lehet biztosítani (ensure) dolgokat, legfeljebb remélni.

: Nicolae Ceauşescu rendszere leáldozott. Persze, ha Ceauşescu korabeli témában használt fogalomról van szó, akkor kiváló megoldás.
