cámara de aire

Hi, I would appreciate your help with this term.
I'm looking for the term cámara de aire as part of a smooth-top. I have tried air pocket, cavity wall, air chamber, but nothing.
Context is:
"La vitrocerámica está constituido básicamente por quemadores radiantes, una cámara de aire y un cristal cerámico de propiedades muy especiales."
Thanks,
Robert

In this case, it's inside the cooker, so it's not a wall cavity etc...

What I mean by the "duck" comment is that it is simply an air chamber. You can have air chambers in almost anything. For example, the "smoothtop" gas cooker may contain screws or bolts, but so does my motorbike and many other things. It needn't be a special fitting for the appliance in question.

There are no flames or red-hot electric heating elements as found in traditional cooking equipment. The induction effect does not heat the air around the vessel, resulting in further energy efficiencies; some air is blown through the cooktop to cool the electronics... the passage the air goes through is a chamber (=a natural or artificial enclosed space) or which you could also simply translate as "passage/conduit/space" if you prefer...

Smoothtops are cookers, like induction cookers, which have a very... smooth ... top :-)

screened-in porch
I'm not sure what you mean by smooth-top but when I see this term used in this context I think of a screened-in porch. I'm not sure this is what you are looking for. Hope this helps.
Note from asker:
basically a vitroceramic hob, thanks :) |
