I believe that these are the holders for the filters that need to be removed. If you google the term you will find similar texts discussing this procedure. You have to deal with this problem as you see it best though. I myself see it still as a slot seal. Between the panels that hold the filters there needs to be a seal otherwise the filter panel will not operate efficiently as the suction will be drawn where the air leaks and not through the filter.

| Not sure... a kitchen hood is supposed to suck in dirty air, so sealing would be counterproductive. I think "cavetto di tenuta" is a sort of cord or wire or even cable, only that I'm not sure whether it is supposed to conduct electricity as well or is it just there to keep the suction panel from falling off. |
