Italian term

Coppia raccordi per Rame diametro 12/14

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Radiators - central heating
Hi,

Would appreciate some confirmation here.

This is part of a kit that comes with a hot-water radiator. The kit also contains chrome valves and some other pipes but as it is a list, no other context.

Is this a pair of fittings for 12/14" copper pipes?

Or am I missing something - I feel unsure.

Thanks in advance.

well since we are talking about a heating system, fittings are usually for pipes, and the diameter is specified, yes, I think so. The diameter specified may refer to the fittings, and if I were you, I would just say sth like "pair of fittings for copper, diameter 12-14 (mm)" not to go guessing anything and therefore avoid misunderstandig. I'd also ask the client though, to confirm whether they're talking millimetres, unless you can find other measurements only in mm throughout the text

So... So Rame here means 'copper pipes' in your view?

Hi Mara Thanks for your two cents worth:-)
Mara Ballarini Feb 22, 2011:
I think so I also understand this as a pair of fittings for copper pipes - the only thing is that coming from Italy, the pipes diameter is probably 12-14 mm, not inches. It probably means 12 OR 14 mm diameter. My two cents :-)

Pair of copper pipe fittings diameter 12/14 mm.

Having once worked (many years ago) in a plumber's merchants, I know that 12" diameter copper piping is certainly not used in any homes. Therefore these have to be millimetres. They are probably reducers from 14 to 12 mill. This size is about right for domestic pipe, close to half an inch.
