This is an explanation of quality control methods used in lab testing. I'm unsure of the proper English translation of the phrase "blancos del metodo". A literal translation of "method blanks" to me sounds terrible, very stilted and contrived. Please see this context and give me your informed opinion. (This comes from Ecuador, by the way.) El propósito de incluir el Registro de Control y Garantía de Calidad cuando se entrega un
reporte de ensayos de laboratorio es para:

In quality control assays, several blanks are needed to control external sources of contamination: a field blank, an equipment blank, a method blank, etc.
