Yes, 'facing brick' might be an even better choice than 'decorative brick' as the former implies exterior use, while the term 'decorative brick' is also used for indoor brickwork.

hmm "paramentsteen" seems to be synonymous with: "gevelsteen", and "siersteen" and also be called: "face brick / facing brick", in addition to "decorative brick" in English

I believe it is to do with adornment
