This is from a ruling on a case of tax evasion. This section outlines how the money is going to be recovered and I'm puzzled by this sentence:
"In caso di proposizione di ricorso contro l'avviso di accertamento, "sara' riscossa mediante iscrizione a ruolo" la meta' delle maggiori imposte accertate....
I understand that "iscrizione a ruolo" means entry onto the tax roll or register but I'm confused as to how this would result in any money being recovered. If anyone could clear this up for me it would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

In terms of what happens here, if the notice is challenged through the courts then the taxpayer will in any case have to pay 50% (or alternatively no challenge is made and he/she pays the full amount)
