Spanish term

contribución cualificada

Spanish to English Other Religion Corporate social responsibility
"Creemos firmemente en el ejercicio de la responsabilidad social corporativa (RSC) como ***contribución cualificada*** al bienestar público."

This comes from a company website in Spain. I have found a couple of references via Google, both in a Catholic context, but nothing that throws any light on what it means.

Discussion

Peter Riccomini (asker) Oct 7, 2011:
Sorry, I disagree There isn't more context as such. The text goes on to say what the company's CSR consists of.

I think it's clear that the company is saying in this extract how it views CSR. I think the people who answered didn't have a problem, and I don't agree that the answers vary much. They seem to me to be in the same line.
AllegroTrans Oct 6, 2011:
@ asker As you can see, you have some very different answers - the reason, I suspect, being that we don't really have sufficient context. Does the rest of the website text give any more clues?
You might have to ask your client for clarification here.

a quantifiable or measurable contribution

as I understand it, it means, not just having the intention of doing good, but doing so with measurable results

another possible translation in the same vein would be

"a tangible contribution"

agree Terri L. Myers : I would favor this answer as being the strongest in terms of "corporate lingo."
