inter-generation breeding interval
This is a value measuring the average period of the breeding herd between calving date and first succesful breeding of the offspring, both male and female. It is important in measuring the speed of dissemination of genetic improvement from one generation to the next. The earlier the calves can be matured and successfully bred, the faster the genetic turnover of the herd.

14 mins
interval between mother and calf
One can only assume that the male and female are specified to avoid an assumption that the statement applies to the male sex alone. The statement obviously has to apply to both sexes, since "filho" and "filha" covers it all. Ergo, 'calf' will do in English, because we don't specify gender.
But I could not find any references to 'mother-calf interval', so I didn't suggest it.

"generation interval" calcula a idade média do touro e da vaca. "female generation interval" considera somente a idade da vaca.

: Sounds good as far as it goes, but covers only the "intervalo mãe-filha"; have you got something equally snappy for the "intervalo mãe-filho" part?

The term covers the concept "mother-offspring" as the sex of the offspring is irrelevant to the interval.
