Ας μου επιτραπεί να παραθέσω μερικά παραδείγματα αντιστοιχίας του όρου με τον συνώνυμό του στα γαλλικά, καθότι επιβεβαιώνει την ερμηνεία του Νίκου :

1. Απόσπασμα απόφασης της Ευρωπαικής Επιτροπής :

'' The Commission first noted that producing newsprint paper on the basis of waste paper is the normal state of the art technique, which is economically profitable and widely spread.''

'' [...] premièrement que la production de papier journal à base de déchets de papier est une technique conforme à l'état de l'art, économiquement rentable et largement répandue.''

2. Απόσπασμα κειμένου της UNESCO :

=> Διευκρίνιση : στο παράδειγμα υπ' αριθμόν 1, ο γαλλικός όρος "art" δεν εννοεί τέχνη καλλιτεχνικής φύσεως αλλά επαγγελματική τέχνη ή τεχνική μεθοδο παραγωγής ενός προιόντος, εν προκειμένω, δημοσιογραφικού χάρτου.
