: 'allude to' (I think 'illude' is a typo): the idea is that rather than a sublime landscape, it is a serene one (a sublime landscape, in the intended sense of 'sublime', would be intense and grand). 'Sublime landscape' is a standard art historical category

Maybe this is one way to look at this. I see the phrase as saying that there is no pretension here suggesting the sublime, it is just a modest, simple sky and horizon.
