heaviness

English to French Art/Literary Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) glass sculpture
The works of XXX reveal a dialogue of materials, a contrast of density, different heaviness, temperature and viscosity.
I suspect there's a nuance here (density v heaviness) : can someone help?

differentiating "lourdeur' from "density", would tend to cast "lourdeur" in the context of design, contours, volumes, and mass as Marco suggested. Am surprised the original has not put all those terms in the plural, when contrasting them... (Just a 2 bob's worth in the common search for sense...)

"Density" could also refer to how transparent the materials are; greater density means less light passing through. Whereas "heaviness" would refer to actual weight or at least an impression of weightiness.

Moi, je pencherais pour ce terme, peut-être moins technique mais plus artistique, exprimant le caractère de ce qui est lourd, pesant.
