Estoy traduciendo un documento relacionado con la tragedia y personajes trágicos y como se ajustan a los parámetros de los personajes de la tragedia clásica.
Tengo problemas traduciendo la siguiente frase al inglés:
el personaje asume constantemente las obsesiones características de los personajes trágicos de inspiración edípica y prometeica.

the character constantly assumes the characteristic obsessions of tragic characters that have an Oedipal and Promethean inspiration

How about:
"...tragic figures inspired by Oedipus and Prometheus"
By saying "figures" this time you don't have to repeat "character" twice in the same sentence.
