Discussion

Charles Davis Sep 13, 2012:
Slovakia I take it back! Beatrice's suggestion of Spiš looks right; Zvolen is also in Slovakia:

Juan Pablo Sans (asker) Sep 13, 2012:
Wow, who said a video game was an easy cake?
Charles Davis Sep 13, 2012:
Spisia According to Alonso de Villegas (Flos sanctorum, III, 1592, p. 182), Spisia was a town where the Irish missionary saint Columbanus visited the King of France after founding the Abbey of Luxeuil in Eastern France, which must have been around AD 600.

But I very much doubt that's relevant! I expect Donal's right here.

o.k. so nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. Any chance you can give us the sentence where this term appears? Trying to figure out if it is an OCR issue
Juan Pablo Sans (asker) Sep 13, 2012:
It's about a Roman Empire game
Juan Pablo Sans (asker) Sep 13, 2012:
OK. It appears after a nationality, so I suppose it has something to do with it.
Helena Chavarria Sep 13, 2012:
Where does the word appear?
lorenab23 Sep 13, 2012:
Boy context would really help here. It looks like it has to do with students that went to the Second Phillipine International School (SPIS) in Saudi Arabia, a student that went to that school was called a Spisian...

Juan Pablo Sans (asker) Sep 13, 2012:
I don't have much of a context. It's a video game and they have it. I suppose it is a place, but I don't know where exactgly
Rosa Paredes Sep 13, 2012:
You need to provide some context.....

habitante de Spis

Sometimes video games and castles are linked! There is a Spis Castle in Slovakia. I hope it helps.
Note from asker:
MG how did you find it? XD It makes perfect sense!
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : This looks very likely, given that Zvolen is also in Slovakia. Chapeau!

spisiano

Zvolenian certainly looks invented. "spisian" could maybe be read a Scythian etc, but seems most likely to be invented too.
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Come to think of it, "spisiano" should probably be the translation, even if it's genuine Slovakian rather than invented.
