English term

Criminal proceedings

English to Spanish Other Law (general)
I would like to know what will be the best way to translate this phrase from American English into legal Spanish used in The US.

Will be okay to translate this as "Procedimientos criminales ?

This is a Spanish-English transcription and translation project for the court of Illinois.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mr.Hinds

This was not my requirement. It was the requirement of my client to use the legal Spanish used in The US.

Thanks.

procedimiento penal

Without more context, that's how I would put it.

It could also be "diligencias penales", if you refer to some particular steps in the proceedings.
