Spanish term

salcedeña

Spanish to English Other Slang slang?
Juliot Diaz's fiction:

"Maybe if you‘ve been engaged to a super open- minded blanquita you could
have survived it?but you're not engaged to a super
open- minded blanquita. Your girl is a bad- ass salcedeña who
doesn’t believe in open anything"

What is a salcedeña?? Can't find it in a diction!

Thanks a lot!

native of Salcedo

Salcedo is a city in the Dominican Republic. Junot Díaz is Dominican himself, and he uses a lot of Dominican references (language, history, etc.) in his books. For example, "Oscar Wao" has a good dose of Dominican slang and everyday expressions.

The city is actually the capital of the Hermanas Mirabal (the Mirabal sisters - famous for their fight against the monster Trujillo) Province.
