map poster

This might also be meant, since they are positioned near the entrances for orientation.

neutral Maja_K : would you post some example where "map poster" is used in advertising, since I couldn't find any ..

agree jharnam : Plakat is a poster, as is also shown at leo.org. From the context, one can see that Plan hear means layout (for example in a museum, we see posters showing the layouts)

agree Eleanore Strauss : It's just map. Map poster would be somewhat awkward

neutral Nicole Schnell : If you get the chance to visit a trade fair, you will see a floor plan of each hall at every corner. To have your company's logo displayed on those large billboards provides addtl. visibility. Trade fairs don't have schedules. They are open all day.

floor plan board/poster

Museums, exhibition centres, shopping centres etc. all usually have floor plans. These are often displayed on boards or posters near the entrance (or other main areas) to help visitors orient themselves.
Peer comment(s):

agree Nicole Schnell : I prefer "floor plan", as previously mentioned in my comment to Maja.

Thanks, Nicole. Sorry - hadn't spotted you other comment or I would have agreed with you.

Thanks
agree Eleanore Strauss : Floor plan is correct. Actually you don't need the poster or the board. Common usage would be "you will find a floor plan"

Yes, think you're right - it's clear enough from the context that it's not a leaflet.
agree Trudy Peters : floor plan
