It’s ridiculously easy to succumb to stress before we even realize
what hit us. Physical crises, emotional tension, and economic crunch
times all tend to undermine our sense of security in such seemingly
logical ways that fear finds a way to slip in. Then, in a true lapse of logic,
we forget that pushing the panic button actually impairs our ability to
cope. In fact, it is such an effective stress producer in its own right that
unpleasant consequences are bound to follow.
These are inclinations, these may find expressions at times under
stress or strain; but used properly, as has been given, may be
helpful. For they without a *temper* are not very worth while, but
they with a temper not controlled are worthless.
