Quote
The context is a quote by Robert Louis Stevenson: "There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign".
I am trying to work out the best French version for "foreign lands" and also "traveler...foreign" - I don't like the double use of "étranger".
The aim is to produce a good French translation of the whole quote (I cannot find one anywhere).
The quote is from Silverado Squatters.

: Effectivement, dans certains cas la répétition est essentielle au message, c'en est un! 'contrées', sorte d'ancêtre de 'country' (avec glissement de sens) pourrait peut-être convenir également.

I agree with those who plead for the repetition of "étranger". Repetitions are essential to literary texts and in this case any other word would not be precise enough.
