Russian term

разрез по линии

Russian to English Other Military / Defense
разрез по линии N1

on the drawing there is a line N1, and the next drawing has a cutaway made at that line.

Discussion

ViBe Sep 12, 2013:
@ Asker: Это написано на рисунке вдоль "линии разреза"? Или внутри текста пояснение? Это влияет на перевод.
Если первое, то просто пишут так: "Line N1: Cut Here"

With the knife make a small cut along line #1 just big enough to insert the scissors. 4. With the scissors, cut along incision line #1 (along the base of the ribs ). 5.

And you need no article if you use 1:
A cut along line 1.

neutral ViBe : можно и так, но есть вариант попроще (значит, и получше ;)), где "cut" используется как глагол. Подождем разъяснения Аскера в ответ на мой уточняющий вопрос в диск. посте.

neutral ViBe : If you mean a cross section view, you must be wrong: the context doesn't seem to support this approach. This seems to be about a line along which the thing in the drawing must be cut (away). No cross section view, I’m afraid…

This will explain the sectioning of section lining.

The diagonal lines on the section drawing are used to indicate the area that has been theoretically cut. These lines are called section lining or cross-hatching. The lines are thin and are usually drawn at a 45-degree angle to the major outline of the object. The spacing between lines should be uniform.

The section, or cutting plane, should be so located as to show all the details which need explanation in the clearest manner. In order to do this, it is often necessary to omit certain details of the mechanism which may be beyond the section, but which, if shown, will only confuse the drawing, without helping in any way. For instance, in showing the section of a gear, only the parts which are continuous should be in section, as the hub and the rim. The teeth and arms should be shown in outline
