Italian term

Rif. Met.

Italian to English Science chemical processing
Help!

This forms part of the header information in a table. The actual cell is empty, so I have no idea what it could refer to. The table is a processing chart for a chemical product. Here's the list of all the headings:

"Prodotto, cod., lotto, reparto, data, redatto da, dir. prod., approvato da, direz. tec., Q.A., **Rif. Met.", Ufficale dal".

The only thing I can think of is "riferimento metodo", but it doesn't make much sense. "Rif" seems almost certain to be "riferimento", but "met."? Any alternatives welcome!

TIA

Sarah

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Oct 6, 2003:
note for Sandy The text consists of a set of processing charts for the synthesis of a chemical product which is simply designated C4 and is destined for pharmaceutical use. I've got a list of "ingredients" if this could help. The only place this abbreviation appears in in the header of the table, but the corresponding cell is empty. I can't ask the client as it's for a foreign company whose offices are closed today.

lots of potential meanings but would need a lot more infor from the source doc.
Non-ProZ.com Oct 6, 2003:
note for Gian Unfortunately, I don't think it can be "metallo" or "metallurgico" because there's no mention of either in the entire 50-page text :-(

riferimento metodologia
