Thanks Marina I had no more time and had to send the text, I used "piattaforma per l'elicottero" which can be turned into a sundeck or similar relaxing area of course. There were already too many sentences with deck and similar in my source text. Thanks for your kind help.

Giuseppe Just to be precise, it is of course usual to drop passengers of with the blades still turning - I meant specifically out of a hovering aircraft/aircraft in flight in my entry below. I also found an alternative term: helideck, perhaps more suited to boats. And would go nicely with sun deck!

@Marina Actually it's the "drop off" words that misled me, I imagined something strange called that way and connected perhaps more to yachts and boats than strictly to the helicopter itself. How silly of me! :((

drop off a helipad is designed to let helicopters land/ to drop passengers off (portare passeggeri alla barca) but is then of course equally suited for the helicopter to lift off again (helicopters don't take off, strictly speaking: the correct term is 'lift off' as per pilot radiotelecommunication). Hence 'drop off' is almost superfluous because both actions need to be possible. Unless you want to literally drop passengers out of a helicopter with the blades turning, which coiuld get messy! Just thought I'd point that out as I am a helicopter pilot.

Quindi è proprio la normale piattaforma per l'elicottero, io temevo altro che chiamassero anche così!
Così rimpiango più facilmente di non aver fatto un altro lavoro più redditizio :((
