Aus einem Infoblatt für die Berechnung von Boni. Die Firma, um die es geht, ist ein Consultingunternehmen:
***Pounding hours*** will be penalized. Unless specifically approved by SBU Head and Chief Administrative Officer, all hours above 2,200 will be discounted. The amount of discount will be discretionary based on SBU Head recommendations subject to approval of one of the Co-CEOs.
In the event that the firm may have a bad year or business should slow down, the firm reserves the right to scale back the % ranges.
The staff will be protected on discounted jobs (i.e., fixed fee jobs, jobs with caps, jobs with holdbacks, middle market jobs). Collections will be calculated at "normal" rates, subject to cap in hours to be determined by lead MD, and approval by SBU Head. For fixed fee jobs where no billing rate per hour applies to the job, the lead MD will assign a billing rate per hour subject to approval of SBU Head.
With respect to success fees, the lead MD will allocate collections to staff subject to approval of SBU Head and one of the Co-CEOs. Success fees are subject to scorekeeping rules in effect for MDs.

Die Bedeutung wird vermutlich aus folgendem abgeleitet:

: Genau, max. 2200 Stunden können aufgeschrieben werden, der Rest fällt unter den Tisch („will be discounted“). Und der Webster hat noch eine weitere passende Defintion für „to pound“: „to work hard and continuously“.

Ich verstehe den Ansatzpunkt: auf englisch ein bisschen flapig (vgl. Beitrag von Wendy - der gibt das gut wieder). Mancher Chef sagt: "Sie werden nicht fürs Rumsitzen bezahlt, nur für Leistung". Aber, mir fällt da nichts Korrektes für einen Vertrag ein.

: Ja, das gäbe die 'Atmosphäre' der Aussage wieder, aber in einen Vertrag passt es nicht, allenfalls in ein deutliches Gespräch (dann aber schon wieder nicht in das Protokoll). Auch"Stunden abreißen", "Stunden aussitzen"/Der Ton hat mich so eingeschüchtert!

Discussion
Hochrechnung: z.B. 40 Arbeitsstunden, 48 Wochen (52 minus 4 Wo. Urlaub), das wären 1920 Stunden. Im Bereich der Leitenden oder wie hier der Consultants, gibt es wohl keine so genaue Festlegung auf Regelarbeitszeit.
