Played (Reproduced) from a recording medium
Records, CDs, DVDs, Cassettes (audio or video) or tapes (and even answering machines, MP3 players and dictaphones) are forms of recording media that could be used in court.

Note added at 16 mins (2013-12-14 16:05:00 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
For instance "Statements from witnesses recorded at the scene of the incident were reproduced before the court from a recording medium."
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 6 hrs (2013-12-14 22:32:25 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
On the basis of the Steffen's information (thank you!) the phrase would probably be:
"Transcript of a recording (an official recording) of the proceedings, validated and approved by xxxx"
Probably what the court stenographer would have written when it was still done by hand.

: See references below - this is about the recording of the actual court hearing.

THX - Taken to heart and modified accordingly :-) - see above - all it is is an official and approved transcript of the proceedings - IMO, the other, previous, answers are a little too wordy - none of them even mentions a transcript.

: recorded hearing played back and approved - is not so wordy, really.
I would never disagree with your opinion, just your suggestion.

Disagreeing with my opinion in peer comments or my answer?
I'll stick with my second suggestion - transcript - anyway :-)
