English term

race-car inspired

English to Spanish Marketing Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Se trata de la descripción de un palo de golf que lleva puntos rojos como los de este enlace:

https://www.scottycameron.com/putters/california.aspx.

Contexto:

"Scotty’s ***race-car inspired*** cherry dot graphics in the back"

You might find some links at the Nascar website ...? ... good luck!!...:)

Inspirado en autos de carrera

Creo que se refiere al color rojo intenso de los puntos y de autos de carrera.
Note from asker:
Gracias Patricia. Sigo sin ver clara la relación porque hay autos de carrera de muchos colores y el color rojo intenso no es exclusivo de de ese tipo de autos.

Beatriz, as far as the relation to "race-car inspired", the link (Wikipedia) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_One_regulations under Race Procedures (and there is a pcture of the Start lights and it goes on to say "The race is started by **five red lights**, controlled by FIA Race Director xxx. The lights illuminate one at a time, left to right, in one-second intervals, and then go out simultaneously after an interval of between four and seven seconds. When the lights go out, the race begins. Should the start need to be aborted for any reason, all five red lights will come on as normal, but instead of going out, the three orange lights will flash. All engines are stopped and the start resumes from the five-minute point. If a single driver raises his hand to indicate that he can't start, the marshall for that row will wave a yellow flag, then after a few seconds, both the red and orange lights will extinguish and the green lights will come on to indicate another formation lap.[4]

But I am no expert either in golf or motor racing.

Another element that Cameron worked hard to insert into the Select line was the ability for the putters to be easily customized through the Scotty Cameron Custom Shop. The Custom Shop allows players to add personal touches to any authentic Scotty Cameron putter, such as custom stamps, lettering, alignment lines or dots and paintfill. One of the most widely visible customizations seen on Scotty Cameron putters on the professional tours are stamping made in the dots on some Scotty Cameron putter faces and back cavities. ***A red dot first appeared on the heel of the putter face of the world’s former No. 1 player. The dot, which served to make the putter’s sweet spot perfectly centered with the sight dot, has come to symbolize the Scotty Cameron brand.
Cameron has included three of his signature dots in the back cavity in all but two models of the Select line, a feature that first came to retail in the Studio Select line in 2008. But for the Select line, he increased the size of the dots to better accommodate his custom stampings – the “Junk Yard Dog,” the “Cameron Money” stamp, hearts, four leaf clovers and others.***

Beatriz:

I found some additional information, but not sure if it is relevant. I don´t think the reference to "race-care inspired" means much, other than marketing speak, but the appearance of "dots" seems to have started with Ping (?):
https://www.titleist.com/news-archive/story/1067/TITLEIST EX...
Studio Select putters feature a high toe set-up that reduces the tendency for players to raise the toe and aim left of target, and a stepless steel shaft for a clean, unbroken appearance in the playing position. Tour-inspired cosmetics include three large red dots on the back of the putter, three smaller red dots on the heel of the face, and distinct Studio Select graphics, shaftband and headcover. The soft 303 stainless material delivers a soft but crisp, solid feel at impact and enhances durability for a timeless style.

Like the Studio Design putters, the California putters now feature three red dots (which “Cameron crazies” refer to as Cherry Bombs) on the back. Each putter is milled from a block of 303 stainless steel and available in 33-, 34- and 35-inch versions. To ensure that the head weight is optimized to the putter's length, weight screws are affixed into the sole of each club at the factory. Golfers cannot adjust the weights, but they can order heavier versions of some models.

Measurements
There are two important measurements that must be taken in order to determine the ideal color for the irons you purchase. The first measurement is the height of the golfer, and the second is the distance from the ground to the player's wrists when he is standing naturally. A player with longer arms relative to his height will need a shaft that extends out from the club at an angle closer to the ground than a player of the same height with relatively short arms. The measurements are compared with the Ping color chart, which a pro shop selling the clubs should carry, to find the ideal color.
Ping Colors
The base for the Ping color chart is the black dot. The hosels of these clubs leave the club at Ping's standard angle. The wrists of golfers with shorter arms are naturally farther from the ground, requiring hosels that are more upright. The blue dot hosels are 0.75 of a degree more upright than black, followed by yellow, green, white, silver and maroon, with an additional 0.75 degree more upright at each level, culminating in the maroon clubs being 4.5 degrees more upright. The clubs with a flatter hosel angle follow the same 0.75 degree increments, starting with red, and progressing to purple, orange, brown and gold, which are 3.75 degrees flatter than black.

Buy the Scotty Cameron Select Newport Putter for less at Golfsmith.com. ... Golf Clubs .... Hosel position ... Precisely milled critical angles in the face, sole and neck insure the putter ... The toe is more conventionally flatter, and the heel is less tapered than the previous Newport 2. ... The cherry bombs in the cavity are deeper.

Understanding the PING color coded fitting system / OLD & NEW color charts:
Along with the lie angle within their color code is shaft length, which is measured by height & wrist to floor measurements. This is pretty accurate in MOST cases but also why you should have the static AND dynamic fitting. I'm 5'8" with 33.5 wrist to floor which indicates a red dot, "now .75 deg. flat" on the new chart & standard shaft length. I actually play orange dot, 2 deg flat. Hitting off a lie board (below) will help you figure this part out.

THIS IS THE NEWEST PING CHART WITH NEW YELLOW & PURPLE COLOR CODES!
Maroon Dot - 4.5 Degrees Upright
Silver Dot - 3.75 Degrees Upright
White Dot - 3.0 Degrees Upright
Green Dot - 2.25 Degrees Upright
Yellow Dot - 1.50 Degrees Upright
Blue Dot - .75 Degrees Upright
Black Dot - Standard Lie Angle
Red Dot - .75 Degree Flat
Purple Dot - 1.5 Degrees Flat
Orange Dot - 2.25 Degrees Flat
Brown Dot - 3.0 Degrees Flat
Gold Dot - 3.75 Degrees Flat

THIS IS THE OLD FITTING CHART
Maroon Dot - 5 Degrees Upright
Silver Dot - 4 Degrees Upright
White Dot - 3 Degrees Upright
Green Dot - 2 Degrees Upright
Blue Dot - 1 Degree Upright
Black Dot - Standard Lie Angle
Red Dot - 1 Degree Flat
Orange Dot - 2 Degrees Flat
Brown Dot - 3 Degrees Flat
Gold Dot - 4 Degrees Flat

Many thanks Taña
Great research! Yes, it probably is just marketing speak, but I needed to make sure that red dots were not part of motor racing iconography. Thanks again.
