The sentence reads:

How would you translate the word de-fang?.eliminar? destrozar? acabar?

Usaría una metáfora como “quitarle el aguijón” “quitarle todo su veneno”, o sencillamente “hacer que sea-fuera inofensiva”, “dejarla inoperante y sin fuerza...”

Entendiendo la idea, las opciones son múltiples, claro.
