@ Asker Different answerers' takes on this depend on whether or not this is the name of a specific course, which seems to be suggested by the absence of the word 'to' after classes. Can you confirm if this word actually appears in your source text and you have simply omitted it here, or if in fact it is missing from the source text?

Irrespective of the answer, I personally feel that it is clear that this is not the title of the course, simply because of the way it is expressed in EN; if it were meant to be the name of the course, I'd expect it to be expressed more naturally something like this:

"So, my mother got me involved in 'Greek dance' classes."
"So, my mother got me involved in a 'Personal Development' course."

In EN (unlike in FR), the fact that the part in quotes comes at the end strongly suggests the aim:

"So, my mother got me involved in theatre classes to 'bring me out of myself'."
