The age of free checking is fading, said Chris Morran at Consumerist. While U.S. consumers and businesses have $1.4 trillion stashed away — more than ever — in checking accounts, banks are limiting "the availability of unconditional free checking" and tightening their requirements, making it harder for many customers to avoid fees. Luckily, "there are still plenty of free checking accounts out there, but many of them are through smaller regional banks and credit unions." Those institutions should be rewarded for continuing to offer a service that used to be — and still ought to be — a given. Consumers can do that "by moving their money, or putting it into interest-earning accounts so that they at least get something in return for allowing the bank to use their deposits."

Discussion
I googled "checking" and "checking account" and skimmed on different web pages. As much as I learned in the past hour, "checking" and "checking account" may be used instead of each other. For example we read in Wells Fargo bank website:
"When you go to a bank to open a new account, you will have a variety of account types and features to choose from. Should you choose the basic checking option or an account that earns interest? "
https://www.wellsfargo.com/financial-education/basic-finance...
In this situation, I prefer to use حساب جاری because when your account is "free" or بدون کارمزد, a plenty of services received through that account are "free" including "money withdrawal through a check".
You are totally right about "بدون کارمزد". And I can accept it for the word "free", but my point is to see if the word "checking" here refers to "checking account" or do we need to translate it as if it means money withdrawal using a check?
I think we first need to clear any ambiguities between these two. (Free checking & free Checking accounts)
I think when we speak about "checks", "checking accounts", "money withdrawal from a checking account" or any type of banking services in Persian, the terms we commonly use are بدون کارمزد , با کارمزد or با کسر کارمزد. You can see برداشت وجه بدون کسر کارمزد on ATM screens all around Iran. Thus I prefer to use this term in this context which is related to banking services charges.
Don't you think that "free checking" is different from "Free checking accounts"?
I think they differ in this case.
So I thought of "برداشت وجه با چک" as the translation for "checking" and I took "خدمات رایگان" for the word "free".
Any opinions on this??
..
