Discussion

Pavel Slama Sep 4, 2014:
Oh, ok, I see. By the way, would any of you, gentlemen, dare use “criminal pursuit” to render that? Would be kinda neat, but it seems to suggest the activity of the other “team”, doesn’t it?

The main reason for me asking this prima facie stupid question is that trestni stihani includes investigation by police, while prosecution in UK is initiated by the CPS (or other body) after the investigation by police. So this is not perfect, accepted translation though it seems to be.
Stuart Hoskins Sep 4, 2014:
The title - Usnesení o zahájení trestního stíhání (vystaveno Policií). If it were a court ruling, I would have suggested "order".
Petr Kedzior Sep 4, 2014:

Pavel Slama Sep 4, 2014:

What makes you think this is the case? Context suggests summary court judgement.
Stuart Hoskins Sep 4, 2014:
decision to prosecute I think the police/prosecutor "decides" rather than "resolves" to pursue a case in common law, but I reckon your best bet is to stick with a direct translation (resolution). http://justice.alberta.ca/programs_services/criminal_pros/cr...

agree Petr Kedzior : ono to common law countries funguje celé trochu jinak, takže bude nejlepší držet se přímého překladu
