Italian term

stabili

Italian to English Other Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
On the artists Augusto Garau.

In collaborazione con G. Monnet, si è dedicato principalmente alla decorazione di stabili e alla progettazione di oggetti (poltrone, scooter, tessuti per la produzione industriale).

I'm looking for reassurance here that it would be OK to translate stabili as still lives??

P.L.F. Persio Feb 10, 2015:
I see your point, Isabelle, but stabili means most definitely buildings here.
ChananZass Feb 10, 2015:
Theaters? I doubt this is the case, but it might be also interior decoration of theaters... And plural of "still life" is "still lifes."
Isabelle Johnson (asker) Feb 9, 2015:
I'm more than happy for the questions to be opened but I can't actually find anything to confirm that Garau painted buildings as yet. Thanks to everyone for their comments.
P.L.F. Persio Feb 9, 2015:
@Shera Lyn and Rosanna: Please, ladies, reopen the question and let PJV10 receive his well earned points!
Isabelle Johnson (asker) Feb 9, 2015:
Hello PJV I've just withdrawn this question - or thought I had - because tiredness is obviously getting to me and I didn't read it properly. I think it means fixed objects of some sort. That is what he appears to have done. Thanks for your help.

with decorazione it makes me think that perhaps he may have painted murals i.e. decorating buildings. A thought!!
