German to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion Circular knitting
This comes from procedural instructions for a knitting company (specifically, a company that knits garments for medical use, such as compression stockings):

Die Legerin ist verantwortlich für die Entnahme der Ware von den Maschinen, die Qualitätsprüfung und für das ordnungsgemäße Legen und Zurückbuchen der Ware.

Die Legerin bündelt die geprüfte und freigegebene Ware und ordnet die entsprechende Laufkarte zu.

It's definitely not the "knitter" - they already have those. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I appreciate all of your help very much, these are all great options. I am thinking of going with "Dry Folder" since it is descriptive enough, it is a legitimate job title, and there is no mention of the Legerin actually operating any machines (reason for which I might abstain from using Folder Operator or Folding Machine Operator).

Packer/baler/folder seems to be the accent here. She probably checks for loose threads, but there is little more to check. Her main task is packing or baling the stockings.

No. English doesn't use "control" in that way. But "checker" might work. Assuming Legen means to lay out (perhaps for packing), I think quality control is the most important thing she does.
