further inland

If you just say 'inland', it gives the impression that it could be in the geographic interior of the country (which is probably why you posted the question). 'Further inland' would mean that it's just in a bit from the shore, which is the meaning intended here, IMO.

Examples:

The first example uses both phrases, but I prefer 'further inland' for the reasons I gave.
