Spanish term
Mét.
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Gynecology, Radiology (ultrasound)
In a Spanish (from Spain) medical report, pregnancy ultrasound record, where ultrasound was taken about the 20th week of pregnancy, there is one column with heading "Mét.". Under "Mét." "ultim" is listed for most categories (BPD, OFD, HC, FL) and "med." is listed for "HL"
I am not sure what "Mét." means, think it would have to be either "Método" or "Métrica" but not sure which one. Also not sure what "ultim" and "med." mean, but knowing what "Mét." means may clear those two up as well.
Hope my question is not too confusing, I tried to ask it as clearly as I can, it is kind of difficult to explain a chart.
Appreciate any help!
Stephen

BPD, OFD, HC, FL HL:
OFD: occipitofrontal diameter
HL: humerus length

After the first trimester of pregnancy a multiparameter assessment of gestational age is advocated. This should include at least two fetal measurements (usually biparietal diameter (BPD) and femur length (FL)) plus a consideration of additional parameters such as head circumference (HC), occipitofrontal diameter (OFD), abdominal circumference (AC) and humerus length (HL).
Measurements in the beam axis are more accurate than those made across the axis. Despite this, some measurements (e.g. Crown-Rump Length (CRL) and femur length) should be measured across the axis.
