Italian term

colpi

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Textiles / Clothing / Fashion weaving technology
Here is the complete sentence:
Nel tessile ciò corrisponde a una piccola rivoluzione industriale con il passaggio dei telai a navetta ai moderni sulzer, stoeble, vamatex, dotati di 2400 arpini e capaci di 300 battute, sino ai più moderni telai ad aria, oggi capaci di 700/800 *colpi*, finissaggi in continuo, tinture indantrene.

This appears in an article about the evolution of weaving looms.

I think this might mean 'picks' but also found 'beat-ups'. Hoping for input from someone with specific knowledge in this area.
Thanks

What is 100% production of any given machine in terms of picks .
= RPM X WORKING HOURS X 60
RPM means that for every revolution of the motor one pick inserted .
60 signifies the conversion factor of hrs to minutes .
For example :- My machine runs at 600 RPM for a shift of 24 hrs .
Then the Total Picks inserted for the day
= 600 x 24 x 60
= 864000 picks
Therefore at a given day at 100% efficiency 864000 picks are inserted .

Factors which effect the production are only two main things .
1) RPM (Revolution per minute) of the machine .
2) Weaving Efficiency .

The low efficiency of these looms makes the fabrics they are producing less and ... rpm while our water/air jet loom can run at speed as high as 700-800 rpm.

Note from asker:
Thank you, Erzsebet. I apologize. The question was removed because I asked for more than one term. If you submit your answers to the individual questions I just posted I will be able to award you points for all three.
I agree with Phil. I could not find any convincing references to "shots". My colleague thinks 'colpi' and 'battute' are used interchangeably.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : You seem to be saying that the translation is "picks", but your only reference containing this word is a mediocre translation.

Dear colleague, this is not my specialization and the links I found are these. IMO, anything is better than leave the asker with empty hands.
