German term
Bundesfachbereichsvorstand
German to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
Trade unions
In a trade union context - the Bundesfachbereichsvorstand seems to be a body of ver.di. The closest I can get through research is "Federal Executive Board" but this does not convey the specific Fachbereich-nature of the board.
Does anyone know what this would be called in English?
Thanks!

(federal) sector [sectoral] executive board
See http://www.verdi.de/ueber-uns/organisation/ co 2ab3bae6-b9... for the organisational structure of ver.di, which includes 13 departments/sectors. Contrary to Darin, I believe that the German term refers to the entire body, rather than to individual members - see, for example, http://gesundheit-soziales.verdi.de/ueber-uns/bundesfachbere...

No, the plural ('sectors') wouldn't work here because there is a 'Bundesfachbereichsvorstand' for each of these trades/sectors/industries.

... although I'd prefer 'sectoral'.

Three biggest trade unions in the UK. Based on the asker's location, I assume this is the most apt choice. I am not sure what is gained by creating a new name.
So I would suggest "Trade" or "Industry" for the "Fachbereich" portion of the term. The AFL-CIO uses these terms, for instance.
You might also just use "Executive Board" followed by the specific name, e.g. "Executive Board for Health and Social Services."
