Specifically the term "circunvalatório". It's in an article written in European Portuguese and compares various methods of psychoanalysis, talks a lot about the conscious and unconscious mind (think Freud, Jung, Bion, etc.). Here is the whole sentence, to give some decent context:

Nesta ciência holística, o cientista passa a dispor de uma nova ferramenta – a intuição – que, ao invés de um mero tratamento circunvalatório fenoménico, lhe permite uma função transcendente através da qual ele entra, propriamente, no seu objeto, identificando-se com ele, conectando, neste processo, realidades física e metafísica.

I found no record of this word trawling through the WWW. I wonder is it a typo? Thanks for any help.
