Hello,
can anyone help with the meaning of صدقة in the following line:
جاء في الفتوى كذلك، أن تواصل المؤمن مع أخيه المؤمن صدقة، خاصة إذا تحمّل في سبيله مشقّة أو خطراً.
Does it mean 'charitably,' as in: The fatwa concluded that believers should continue to treat their brothers charitably, even if in doing so it brought them hardship or put them in danger.

is a good
In the context, I don't think it means charity
Note from asker:
I'm not quite sure how "is a good" would fit in the line. "treat their brothers kindly" or "treat their brothers well" ? |

charity
Yes, you got it right. It means charity. The way believers would support one another is charity. Even the smile in the face of another believer is described as an act of charity.

Charity
No I believe you better use charity in your translation or "act of charity", it has a broader meaning,
unlike "almsgiving" which is given only to the poor.
